うさぎの島として有名な大久野島へ行ってきました。
大三島からフェリーが出ているので簡単に行けます。
周囲約4kmのこの小島は、かつて毒ガス工場があったことから「地図から消された島」と呼ばれていました。現在は国立公園に指定されています。
もともと毒ガスの動物実験用にウサギが飼われていてたそうですが、いま島にいるウサギは1971年に地元の小学校で飼われていた8羽が放されて野生化し、繁殖したという説が最有力なのだそうです。
悲惨な戦争の遺産とかわいいウサギたちのという相反する存在が、複雑な気持ちにさせます。
ちなみにウサギにエサをあげたい時は午前中がいいです。
午後になるともうウサギたちはおなかいっぱいで全然食べてくれません。
ウサギのフ〇ソフトクリームはおいしかったです（笑）
【The island that was erased from the maps 】
I went to Ookuno-shima island by ferry from Oomi-shima island.
This island famous for the island that was erased from the maps.
Because during war, there were poison gas factories here.
But after war, the rabbits ran away from an elementary school. (It’s common to have rabbits as pets at elementary school.)
And wild rabbits bred.
My feeling was confusing because ruins of war was terrible and rabbits were so cute.
