Although the Reserve Bank of Australia
(RBA) Monetary Policy Meeting Minutes weren’t exciting, the RBA board said they would not increase the cash rate until
actual inflation is sustainably within the
2 to 3 per cent target band.
The minutes’ statement also mentioned
the Russian/Ukraine war as a major
uncertainty despite expecting a pick-up
in economic activities.
Looking ahead, we still have updates
from New Zealand’s GDP,
Australian unemployment rate and the
U.S. Federal Reserve’s interest rate
decision, which is expected to deliver the first increase in the fed funds rate since 2018.
Also, eyes look to the
Bank of England rate decision (Super
Thursday).
