I hope that this finds you and your family healthy and safe, especially during this most difficult and stressful time. We here at Sakura Japanese Class have tried to maintain a sense of normalcy for our students and staff by offering classes and lessons as usual. However, in light of recent development we have made the following decision.
In the best interest of our students, their family, and our staff, we regret to inform you that we will close all classes and lessons beginning Wednesday, March 18th until March 31st. The closing start date is on Wednesday as today and Tuesday (16th and 17th) is our scheduled curriculum days. We are tentatively planning on reopening all classes and be back in session on Wednesday, April 1st (with the exception of Mililani class location which will resume on Thursday, April 2nd). Should anything change during this time, we will notify you all immediately.
We are closing due to an abundance of caution regarding this COVID-19 outbreak. Our entire staff here has been following news, DOE criteria’s and guidelines, and the health authorities very closely and after the latest news about the Superintendent extending the Spring Break Session, we felt it was definitely time to make the tough decision and close both locations temporarily.
It is our utmost concern and priority that our students, families, extended families, and staff are and will all remain safe during this difficult time. Your health and the student’s health is what is most important and we would hope that this will all go back to normal very soon.
We (staff/senseis) have been taking all precautionary measures by sanitizing and disinfecting all toys, books, and materials used by everyone in all locations (Mililani and Honolulu). We will actively keep doing so to ensure everyone’s safety moving forward.
Lastly, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please check your emails for any further updated information as well as information regarding refund for the month of March.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we work to keep you, your child, and our staff safe. Please take care and we look forward to seeing everyone healthy, smiling, and back in Japanese class!
