The lonely Groke
うみうまに会うために、ムーミントロールが夜の浜にカンテラを灯していると、
明かりに誘われてモランが島までやってくるようになります。
氷のような冷たさのせいで、モランはみんなから恐れられています。
いつも浜の近くの水の中にいて、明かりが消えると暗闇に消えていきます。
ところが、その夜は浜に上がってきたのです。
ひとりぼっちのモランは、ムーミントロールに会いにきたのでした。
Moomin goes down to the beach at night and lights a lamp threr hoping to
meet the sea horse, and the Groke follows that light all the way to the island.
The Groke is feared by everyone because of her icy coldness. She is always
creeping about in the shallow waters at the beach, disappearing into the
shadows when the light goes out. That particular night, she comes up onto
the beach. The lonely Groke has come to see Moomin.
