今回の会話には、ローマの地下鉄の話が出てきますね。
コスタンツァ先生：
Sì, a Roma ci sono tre linee della metro, A, B e C. E ovviamente però non coprono tutta la città .
（Yes, in Rome there are three metro lines, A, B and C. And obviously they don't cover the whole city.）
高田先生：
ローマの地下鉄はですね、路線が三本あるということですね。A, B,Cの３本です。但し、市全体をカバーするようなものではないということでした。他のイタリアの町ではどうでしょう？
リヴィオ先生：
Sì, c'è in altre città anche, per esempio a Milano è la metro più estesa con quattro linee, che coprono quasi 100 km di lunghezza.
（Yes, there is one in other cities too, for example in Milan it is the largest metro with four lines, covering almost 100 km in length.）
高田先生：
例えばですね。まあミラノにはですね。もっと路線が多くてですね。４本100キロぐらいの長さになるということです。旅行者にとって地下鉄は使いやすいですか？
コスタンツァ先生：
Sì, penso di sì. È consigliabile prendere un albergo vicino a una stazione della metro e comunque in tutte le zone più turistiche di solito c'è una stazione della metro.
（Yes, I think so. It is advisable to get a hotel near a metro station and in any case in all the most touristy areas there is usually a metro station.）
高田先生：
地下鉄をうまく利用するにはやはり駅の近くのですねホテルに泊まるといいと言うことですね。それから観光地についてはだいたい地下鉄の駅があるので、うまく使えば便利だと言うことでした。

写真を探しながら思い出しました。ゴルバチョフ書記長のころ行ったソ連。地上の建物はどれも老朽化していてメインテナンスが行き届いてない感じだったけど、地下鉄の駅はやたら豪華だった気がする。
