（Walking around Rome）

この課では未来形の活用を学びます。
パンテオン。ローマに来たからには、やっぱりパンテオンも外せない観光スポットですよね。私が初めてパンテオンの中に入ったときは、そのスケールの大きさに驚きました。
マッテオ先生：
E poi, è davvero incredibile pensare che sia stato costruito 2000 anni fa e gli antichi romani erano davvero dei grandi architetti.
（And then, it's really incredible to think that it was built 2000 years ago and the ancient Romans were really great architects.）
亜希子先生：
本当に。2000年前のローマ人の建築技術には脱帽ですね。では早速聞いてみましょう。パンテオンの中に入った2人ですが、ユリはある点が気になったみたいですよ。
マッテオ先生：

Y: Wow, che bell'architettura! Ma il tetto è aperto? Quando piove, sarà un problema.
B: Ahah,tranquilla. Oggi non pioverà. Anche se piove, l'acqua scende facilmente nei fori al centro del pavimento.
Y: Meno male.
B: Inoltre, una volta all'anno fanno cadere dal tetto petali di rosa.
Y: Che romantico! Tornerò per vederlo.

Il Pantheon e i suoi 2000 anni di storia

「パンテオンの2000年の歴史に思いを馳せて」
亜希子先生：
まさかパンテオンの天井に穴が開いているとは、正面からの写真を見ていても、なかなか気が付かないので驚きますよね。
マッテオ先生：
Il diametro del foro è di nove metri, mentre la cupola è alta più di quarantatre metri e al suo interno potrebbe starci perfettamente la cupola di San Pietro. Incredibile, no?
（The diameter of the hole is nine meters, while the dome is more than forty-three meters high and the dome of St. Peter could perfectly fit inside. Incredible, right?）
亜希子先生：
あの穴、直径が９mもあるんですか！しかもパンテオンのドームの大きさは、バチカンのサンピエトロ大聖堂のクーポラよりも大きいんですね。やっぱりスケールが違いますよね。
マッテオ先生：
Il Pantheon fu costruito da Agrippa sotto l'imperatore Augusto.
（The Pantheon was built by Agrippa under Emperor Augustus.）
亜希子先生：
そう。パンテオンはもともと初代皇帝アウグストゥスの右腕アグリッパによって建設されたものなんですよね。その後、火事によって焼失したために、今、私たちが見ているのはハドリアヌス帝によって2世紀の初頭に再建されたもの。
マッテオ先生：
Ed è un miracolo che per circa 2000 anni sia rimasto praticamente intatto.
（And it is a miracle that for about 2000 years it has remained practically intact.）
亜希子先生：
本当に2000年近くもそのままの状態で残っているのは奇跡。でも実は少し変わっているところもあるんですよ。パンテオンの正面の三角形のところにもともとあったブロンズは、17世紀の教皇ウルバヌス8世によってはがされ、現在のサンピエトロ大聖堂の主祭壇にある天蓋や、大砲を作るのに再利用されているんです。
マッテオ先生：
A questo riguardo, pare che non sia rimasta in silenzio nemmeno la famosa statua di Pasquino.
（And in this regard, it seems that the famous statue of Pasquino did not remain silent either.）
亜希子先生：
当時もの申す像としてローマ人による風刺が張られていた例のパスクィーノにも、これに対する強烈な批判が貼り出されたようですね。あとパンテオンの前の広場が現在の形になったのも、18世紀の事。変わったものと変わらないもの。そんなパンテオンの変遷を考えながら見てみるのも面白いですね。
