根付「一ノ谷」の件1/ Sub. netsuke "Ichinotani"#1.
海外の御客様より、
根付の御注文を賜った。
I received an order of netsuke from a foreign customer.
今回の題材は、
「平家物語」中、一ノ谷合戦を描いた
「鵯越逆落とし」。
The subject is "Hiyodorigoe Sakaotoshi",
a episode expresses the battol of Ichinotani, from "Heike-monogatari".
複数素材の組み合わせで、
大きく彫れとの御用命。
The two of "using mutipul materials" and
"big size" are client's request.
「鵯越逆落とし」とは以下の通り。
The well known episode of "Hiyodorigoe" is as below.
平宗盛公を総大将とする平氏一門は、
一時は九州太宰府まで追いやられるも、
九州中国四国全域を
支配するまでに盛り返し、
寿永三年(1184)には
かつて平清盛公が都を築こうとした
福原(現・兵庫県神戸市)に陣を敷いていた。
A general Munemori Taira and his Heishi-clan once had been pushed away to Dazaifu in Kyushu, but has recovered powerfully and taken up a military position in Fukuhara, current Kobe in Hyogo in year of 1184.
対する源頼朝は義弟の範頼公率いる大手軍(主軍)五万六千騎と義経公率いる搦手(副軍)一万騎を送り、これを討たんとした。
General Yoritomo Minamoto of contending power, Genji-clan sent their main force of 56,000 horsemen commanded by Norimune Minamoto and the sub force of 10,000 horsemen commanded by Yoshitsune Minamoto to suppress them.
2月7日早朝、まず大手軍が東より攻撃を開始。平氏軍は激しく抵抗して拮抗状態となる。そこへ義経公が、搦手本隊から選りすぐった精鋭七十騎を率いて、狐狸しか通らぬ嶮岨な鵯越を抜け、平氏軍西側の一ノ谷陣裏手の断崖を騎馬にて駆け降りて攻めた。平氏の陣は混乱、敗走した。という、良く知られた下り。
In the early morning 7th February, the main force began to attack Heishi's base from east, and Heishi striked back hardly. Then Yoshitsune and his selected best 70 horsemen got through the mountain rough road of Hiyodorigoe and run down the cliff of Ichinotani to attack the back of Heishi's base from west. The Heishi force fell into a panic and fled as result.
これをこんな風に描いてみた。
I drew the episode this way.
命銘、根付「一ノ谷」。
Named, netsuke "Ichinotani".
猛る愛馬に跨り、
砂塵を巻き上げて断崖を駆け降りる
大鎧姿の若武者、源義経公。
Yoshitsune Minamoto, a young warrior in a o-yoroi armor, runs down the cliff with his wild horse raising the dust.
奥州と縁深い義経公が佩くのは、
一ノ関は舞草の毛抜形太刀。
Yoshitsune wares a Kenukinari-tachi sword forged by Mokusa blacksmith in Ichinoseki, as he had close relationship with Oshu.
鎧は簡素な素掛け威し。
別素材で作って組み付けよう。
The armor bound in basic sugake style.
I'm going to carve from a different colored materialw
左手には弓。
右腕は紐通しに利用。
A bow in his left hand,
and his right arm is used as himotoshi.
一体となって掛け降りる人馬に
迷いも恐れも無い。
ひたすらにダイナミズム、
スピード感を大切に彫りたい。
The horse and rider became one, have no fears and puzzlements.
So I would carve just their speed and dynamism selectively.
そんな意匠。
Such a design.
次のステージは「生地取り」。
