ひ～くんの英語よもやま話=399= （梅雨時の魅力）

あっという間に今年の前半期の最終日になりました。 天気は雨の続く梅雨期です。
個人的には梅雨期はけっこう好きです。 特に雨の合間に、陽光が射しこみ瑞々しい
緑が輝く風景はこころ躍ります。 遠くの里山連峰に霧が棚引いているのもいい。 アジサイやクチナシなどの花が雨の中でいっそうきれいに咲いているのもいい。 遠くの田圃から聞こえるカエルの合唱も愉快だ。数週間すれば、やって来る夏休みに思いを馳せるのもいつも梅雨の中・後期の頃だ。 ほんの少しの例だけどこんな理由で梅雨期はもっとも好きな季節の一つである。
In the blink of an eye, it is already the last day of the first half of this year. We are in the middle of the rainy season. Personally, I like the rainy season. I especially enjoy seeing the dewy, fresh green plants shining in the bright sunshine between the rains. It is also nice to see the mist on the green "satoyama" mountain range in the distance. The hydrangeas, gardenias and other flowers are even more beautiful in the rain. The chorus of frogs from the distant rice fields is also delightful. It is always in the middle or later part of the rainy season that I think about the upcoming summer vacation, which will be here in a few weeks. These are just some of the reasons why I love the rainy season so much.

On June 30, 1997, the British lease on the New Territories in Hong Kong, established by the Second Peking Agreement, expired. 1997年6月30日、第二次北京協定によって定められた香港新地区に対する英国の租借権が失効した。
