| STEPHANO： How now shall this be compassed? Canst thou bring me to the party? | ステファノー： どうすればそうなる？ お前、そいつのところまで案内できるのか？ | |
| CALIBAN： Yea, yea, my lord: I'll yield him thee asleep, Where thou mayst knock a nail into his bead. | キャリバン： うん、出来る、わが殿、寝っているところを引き渡す、そしたらあんたの手でやつの頭に釘を打ち込めばいい。 | |

compass = achieve. 達成する。 compass one's goal = 目標を達成する。
bead = ネックレス、数珠。
pied ninny まだら模様の服をきたバカ。
niniy = バカ、まぬけ、とんま。
Thou scurvy patch! ばっちい道化
scurvy = 卑しい、下劣な、垢だらけの。 patch = 道化師。
brine = 塩水。
物語の筋に大きな影響を与えないと思える割に、このステファノー、トリンキュロー、 キャリバンのとぼけた会話、プロスペロー暗殺計画の話は長々と続く。深刻な復讐劇に一種の息抜きを与えているのだろう。
