英フィメール・フォーク・シンガー「Linda Thompson」が、豪華ゲスト陣を其々フィーチャーした形式で、18〜19世紀の英国ミュージック・ホールで奏でられていた所謂 “ヴォードヴィル・ミュージック” 楽曲群をカヴァー演奏した ‘05年5月ロンドンにある劇場 “Lyric Hammersmith” での録音を中心に構成された ‘18年作 “My Mother Doesn’t Know I’m On The Stage” ♪

先日リリースされた「Linda Thompson」’24年最新作 “Proxy Music” を当blogに記すにあたっての下調べでチェックした公式サイト内 “SHOP” 掲載「Linda Thompson」カタログ群のなか一枚見覚えが無かった本作をオーダーしていたのが届きました. . .
リリース元サイト内本作詳細ページには ‘18年9月28日発売と. . . 当時そんな情報は露知らずまったく見落としていました (汗)
無論「Linda Thompson」は、かつての「Richard & Linda Thompson」時代からフォーク/トラッドをベースとしたシンガーとして認識されるところですが、古き良き時代の英国ミュージック・ホール/ヴァラエティ・ショウで奏でられていたノスタルジックなオールドタイム・ミュージックは「Linda Thompson」にとって祖父母や両親が親しんでいた影響で幼い頃から染み付いていたある種潜在的なルーツであり、本作はそれらの音楽をトリビュートした一枚♪
