18日、TWITTERを通じて発表した情報によると
最新シングル「Marry the Night」のカバーに
フィリピン人デザイナー カーミット・テソロさんがデザインした
服を見にまとったという。
テソロさん本人によるコメントはまだないそうです。

フィリピン南部のバシラン島で
１８日、フィリピン国軍と
イスラム武装組織「モロ・イスラム解放戦線」（ＭＩＬＦ）の間で
激しい戦闘が起き、国軍兵士１３人が死亡、１０人が行方不明となった。
ＭＩＬＦ側も少なくとも３人が死亡。
フィリピン政府とＭＩＬＦの間で続いている和平交渉に影響する懸念がある。
フィリピン国軍によると
バシラン島アルバルカ町の山中で
１８日早朝、誘拐犯グループを追跡していた国軍部隊が
犯人と銃撃戦になった。
さらに、ＭＩＬＦ部隊が戦闘に加わり
国軍側はほかに１１人がけがをした。
国軍とＭＩＬＦは停戦しているが
ＭＩＬＦは「国軍が停戦を破り、１７日夜から我々の支配地域を砲撃し
戦闘になった」と国軍を非難しており
国軍は、ＭＩＬＦへの攻撃を否定している。

今回の合同軍事演習（アメリカ軍とフィリピン軍）は
双方の海兵隊合わせて３,０００人が参加し
１７日から１２日間の日程でフィリピン各地で始まりました。

アメリカ海兵隊のティンバーレイク准将は
「両国の軍が連携を強化することで、将来の課題に団結して臨み
地域の安定を確かなものにできる」と述べ
東南アジア地域の平和と安定に向けてフィリピン軍との連携を
強化していく考えを示しました。
今回の演習では
フィリピンと中国が南沙諸島の領有権を巡って
対立する南シナ海を臨むパラワン島の海岸で
大規模な上陸訓練が行われる予定で
フィリピン軍は「自国の領土や領海で行う正当な訓練だ」として
アメリカとフィリピンは
ことし６月にも同じパラワン島で海軍が主体の合同軍事演習を行っており
南シナ海で影響力を拡大する中国を
強くけん制するねらいがあるものとみられます。
