Today, we are going to be talking about a place out of Nikko. Ashikaga city is in the south of Tochigi prefecture and takes about one and a half hours to get there using highway from Nikko city. In this Ashikaga city, a place called "Ashikaga Flower Park
" is becoming really famous not only among Japanese people but also among foreigners. Even a new station was opened
near the park to make it easier to get there by train! It is famour for the wisterias in May; however, we went there to see the light up at night.
There will be temporary parking area
during the period of wisterias and also of light up because parking near the entrance would be full of cars. If you are going to this park at night, you need to prepare extra jackets
to keep you warm, but we got used to the coldness of Okunikko so it was not so cold for us
.
In the park, there are a lot of places to see and there is even a castle made by lights. What we want you to see closely is that each lights are made into the shape of real flowers and this work could be done because the staff there are professionals of flowers. Also, there are some places inside that you can enjoy meals or some snacks and drinks
so it might be nice to have something hot to make you warm. And of course, you could get some flowers as souvenirs.
The light up is held from December until March and they changes their light up theme almost every month so it would be fun to see the differences. Other than Nikko city, there are lots to see in Tochigi prefecture so please come visit and stay overnight and enjoy!

今日はちょっと日光から抜け出して遊んできたよ！ということで同じ栃木県足利市のお話です。日光からは高速で1時間半ほどの県南に位置する足利市。この足利にはとても有名な足利フラワーパークがあります
。5月の藤の花の時期にはたくさんの人が訪れ、最近新しく最寄り駅ができたほど日本だけでなく、海外からのお客様の間でも話題の場所です！今回はそのフラワーパークで冬の夜に行われるイルミネーションを見に行ってきました
藤の時期とイルミネーションの時期はパーク周辺の駐車場はとても込み合うので、少し歩いたところに臨時駐車場が用意されています。夜はとても寒いので防寒対策が必要なのですが、今年は暖冬ということに加え、奥日光の寒さで鍛えられたのか、あまり寒く感じませんでした（この間東京に行ったときは暑すぎて大変でした←）。
パーク内では藤棚がイルミネーションで再現されていたり、イルミネーションのお城
があったり見どころたくさんです！！そしてこのフラワーパークではひとつひとつの電球がきちんとお花
の形をしているからびっくりです。これもお花の専門家さんだからできる技！！ぜひ近づいてチェックしてほしいです
また、室内でご飯を食べれる場所もあるので、途中温かいスープで体を暖めるのもおすすめ。さらに今人気の多肉植物などのお花の販売もあります
12月から3月頃まで開催されているイルミネーションですが、1か月毎くらいに園内のテーマが変わり、イルミネーションや展示物も違ったものになる！ということで、何回でも楽しめそう。日光以外にも魅力的な場所がたくさんある栃木！ぜひ日帰りといわず、ゆっくりじっくり味わっていってほしいです♪
