The International Institute of Concern for Public Health is very disturbed to learn about the proposed nuclear power plant in a National Park on Yamaguchi coast on an inland sea. endangering an area of great diversity.and fully endorse the people and organizations fighting to influence the Government of Japan to abandon such a short-sighted plan. Nuclear waste is the Achilles heel of the nuclear industry that is running into so many problems in many countries similar to that being experienced in the attempts for a fast breeder reactor.

The so-called nuclear renaissance is an idea that will not and should not be fulfilled. The consequence will be nuclear weapons in the hands of irresponsible governments and terrorist groups. To be even thinking of developing deterrent nuclear weapons is abhorrent. Proliferation of nuclear weapons is very dangerous to peace. Japan should be in the forefront in demanding the end to the use of nuclear radiation as a source of power as these reactors are the source of the radioisotopes used in nuclear bombs and other weapons.
いわゆる「核ルネッサンス」とは、実現されず、すべきでない構想です。その構想では必然的に、無責任な政権とテロリスト集団が核兵器を手にする結果になります。抑止力としての核兵器開発を考えていることすら忌まわしいことです。核兵器の拡散は平和にとり大変危険です。原子炉は核兵器と他の兵器に使われる放射性アイソトープの製造元になるので、日本は電力源としての放射能利用の終わりを求める先頭に立つべきです。
It seems truly ironic that Japan, with all its potential renewable energy and a history of devastating damage to their people and the environment from the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaaki should be using nuclear power at all.
日本にある潜在的な再生可能エネルギーと、ヒロシマ・ナガサキの破壊により市民と環境が受けた壊滅的被害の過去にもかかわらず、日本がそもそも原子力を利用しているのは、本当に皮肉なことに思えます。
