Fukushima Animals Inside No Go Zone Wait to Be Rescued.
Do you ever wonder what happened to the animals after the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disasters in Japan on 3/11/2011? They were left behind. Not because their owners did not want them, but because the Japanese government told the evacuees to leave them behind because they would be allowed to come back for them in a few days. ※
This was not true, and indoor pets perished due to lack of food and water as people were not allowed to return home for months. Bonafide animal rescue groups and private citizens brought food and water to these animals.
Mid April 2011 all that changed as the Japanese government closed of the 20km zone making it illegal and almost impossible to trespass to save or feed animals.
Hundreds of farm animals died as a result due to starvation and lack of basic care. Pigs and cows were left to die in their own filth, often times drowning in pools of filth and decay. They died locked inside yards and pens.
All these animals had full potential to be rescued safely and the government ignored the many petitions and pleas by many groups. Beautiful pets both dogs and cats also perished due to injuries, starvation or lack of shelter.
The Hachiko Coalition has been raising awareness and working closely with many animal rescue groups and private citizen rescue teams since the beginning of the catastrophe. Currently there remain hundreds of dogs and cats and about 1,000 cattle waiting to be rescued.
It has been almost nine months since the disaster in Fukushima and these animals are still alive and wait to be rescued. The Hachiko Coalition has launched an international visual campaign asking the government of Japan to rescue the surviving animals. Winter is almost here and time is running out.

The evacuees were told that they would be able to come back in a few days.
However, I do not think that the Japanese Government officially told evacuees to leave their pets behind. Some of the evacuees actually took their pets with them to the shelters.

福島警戒区域の動物達は救助を待っている
２０１１年３月１１日の大地震、津波、そして原発事故の後、動物達はどうなったのか、疑問に思ったことはありませんか？
彼らは置き去りにされたのです。
飼い主が望んだわけではなく、日本政府が、「数日で戻って来られるので置いて行くように」と被災者たちに言い渡したのです。しかし、実際には被災者たちは何カ月も帰宅を許されず、室内飼いのペットの多くは餓死してしまいました。※
そのような中で、誠実な動物保護団体やボランティアが、動物達にフードや水を与え続けました。
しかし２０１１年４月中旬、すべてが変わってしまいました。日本政府が原発２０ｋｍ圏内を警戒区域として封鎖したことにより、動物達の救出や給餌はほとんど不可能になってしまったのです。
数百頭の家畜が、世話をされずに餓死しました。牛や豚は、囲いや柵の中に閉じ込められ、汚物の海の中に放置されたまま死にました。
動物達を安全に救出することは十分できたはずなのに、政府は多くの団体の署名や嘆願を無視しました。
多くの犬・猫も負傷や飢餓などで命を落としました。
「ハチ公連盟」では当初から、この問題への関心を高めたり、保護団体や民間団体と密に連携を取りながら活動してきました。
２０１１年１１月現在、いまだ数百匹の犬・猫、また1,000頭ほどの牛が残されており、救助を待っています。大震災から9カ月が経過した今も、生きて助けを待っているのです。
「ハチ公連盟」では、日本政府に動物たちを救うよう求めるヴィジュアル・キャンペーンを開始しました。

被災者の方々は「数日で戻って来られる」とは言われたものの、日本政府は公式に「ペットを置いて行くように」という通達は出していないように思います。

左側は、すでにメンバーになった人のログイン画面で、右側の「Sign Up」（会員登録）フォームに必要事項を入力します。
上から順に、
＊（必須） Screen Name （ニックネーム） 半角英数字、文字３～１２文字まで
＊（必須） E-mail （メールアドレス）
＊（必須） Password （パスワード） 半角英数字、文字６～１０文字まで。スペースは使わない。
その下は、氏名と電話番号ですが、入力しなくても大丈夫です。
そして四角い窓に書かれてある文字を、「＊（必須）Type what you see in the grey box.（グレーのボックスに見える文字を入力してください）」に入力して、画像認証。
わからない場合や失敗した場合は、「Can't read this?」をクリックすると、別の文字が表示されます。
そして、一番下の赤い「SIGN UP」ボタンをクリックして一旦終了です。
成功すると、「Thanks !」（ありがとう！）と書かれた窓が出てきます。
さらに、ＣＮＮから届く確認メールの中の赤い「CONFIRM」（確認）ボタンをクリックして、正式に会員登録が終了し、画面の左上に入力したニックネームが表示されます。
会員登録終了後、ログイン中に別の記事の●This belongs on CNN.（報道するべき）ボタンをクリックすると、ボタンのすぐ下に、"Feedback submitted successfully! "（意見は正常に送信されました）が表示されます。
会員になると記事へのコメントもできるようになるので、それぞれの記事の一番下のコメント欄にコメントをすると、プロデューサーにアピールするのにさらに効果的です。
