ニューヨーク市がリオープンした今週、街はずいぶんと活気付いている。
フェーズ１では、小売、建設、製造、卸売業が再稼働を始めた。
小売店で客は店内に入ることはできず、店頭で商品を指定して購入する。
建設現場では怒声が飛び交い、ホームレスが元気に物乞いをしている。
市内のいたる所で「BlackLivesMatter」のデモが平和的に行われ、
NY市警察官たちは、友好的な雰囲気で、遠巻きにそれを見ている。
ダウンタウンでは、すでに渋滞が発生していた。
密集するデモに参加した人たちのなかで、コロナ感染者が出るとしたら、
恐らく来週末頃までに、その数字が顕著になるだろうと推測される。
フェーズ２の日程は、まだ正式には特定されていない。
リオープンしつつも、日本とは桁違いの感染者数が報告されているなか、
この半月が、次のステップ移行への試験期間となっている。
初夏らしい陽気が続くなか、コロナもどこかへ消え去って欲しい。
The city has come a long way this week as New York City reopened.
In Phase 1, retail, construction, manufacturing and wholesale businesses began to reopen.
Customers are not allowed to enter the store at retail, but rather specify products in the store to be purchased.
Shouting was heard at construction sites, and homeless people were cheerfully begging for food.
Peaceful "BlackLivesMatter" demonstrations have taken place throughout the city.
New York City police officers were watching it from a distance, in a friendly atmosphere.
There was already a traffic jam downtown.
If any of the people who attended the crowded protest were to be infected with corona,
Perhaps by the end of next week, the numbers will be more pronounced.
A date for Phase 2 has not yet been officially identified.
While it's reopening, the number of people infected by the disease is reported to be orders of magnitude higher than in Japan.
This half month will be a testing period for the next step in the transition.
As the early summer-like weather continues, we hope that the corona will fade away.
