長崎大学医学部良順会館。
申込者数が未知数だった長崎サミットだが、
お土産を急遽280に増やしたほど、会場は大盛況であった。
高校生と大学生が大半、そして一般の方が周囲をぎっしり埋める。
長崎の若者がいかに平和に関心が高いかを、肌で感じる構成だった。
トーマスが、ドイツ国際平和村のことを語り始める。
杉原千畝氏の偉業、四男・伸生氏のメッセージ、すベてに共通の想いがある。
ピースキャラバン隊の学生２人と、高校生一万人署名の高校生１人。
そこに医学部の教授や私たちが参加してのパネルディスカッション。
最初に飛び出した「自己満足」というワードに、どのように対処するか。
教授は「今こそ、若者の声に耳を傾けるべきだ」と学生の意見を奨励し、
私たちも「具体的に行動することだけが、人の心を動かす」と伝えた。
世界中が自国から移民や難民を排他しようとするなかで、
ドイツ国際平和村だけが、真逆のことをやっている事実。
平和村が身体のリハビリだけでなく、心の教育をしている結果、
自国に帰った子どもたちが、医者や平和大使になっていくのだと。
質疑応答を繰り返し、次第に会場にいた参加者の心がほぐれていくのを感じた。
最初は斜めに構えていた学生が、自分の目で見てみたいと意見する。
そう。
まずは正しいことを知ってください。そして伝えてください。
私たちの目標はそこにあるから。
世の中には役割分担があって、
まず目の前にある、自分が出来ることを、やってみよう。
困っている人がいたら、手を差し伸べよう。
それがきっと「人として、正しいことをする」ことに繋がるから。
長崎の若者に、たくさんの希望を見出した長崎サミット。
今この時代に、この場で伝えられたこと、
関わってくださったすべての皆様に、心から感謝の意を申し上げます。

We participated the panel discussion, we welcomed two students from Peace Caravan, one high school student signed by 10,000 high school students, and two professors of medical school.
We coped with the word "self-satisfaction" that jumped out first.
Professors encouraged, “Now we should listen to the voices of young people,”
We also told that "only acting specifically moves people's minds."
Though the world tries to exclude immigrants and refugees from their own country,
It is a fact that only Germany International Peace Village is doing the opposite thing.
As a result of education in the peace Village, not only physical rehabilitation but also mental education, the children who returned home had become doctors and peace ambassadors.
The questions and answers were repeated, and I felt that the minds of the participants in the hall were gradually being loosened.
Some students seemed be doubted at the beginning,
but they said they would like to see with their own eyes finally.
Yes.
First of all, please know the correct fact. And please convey them.
Because our goal is there.
There is a division of roles in the world,
First of all, let's do what we can do.
If there is a person in trouble, let's reach out.
It will surely lead to "doing the right thing as a person".
At the Nagasaki Summit, We found many hopes from young people in Nagasaki.
We were very happy we had been conveyed on this occasion during this time,
