幼稚園と小学校時代を過ごした武蔵野東学園は、特殊な学校だった。
自閉症児と健常児の混合教育を主体とし、
周囲に障害を持った仲間がいるのが当たり前の環境だった。
当時は障害とは知らずに、「心の弱い友達」だと学んだ。
友を愛する、「友愛の心」を体得したのはこの学園のお陰。
学校は勉強しに行く所ではなくて、友達作りを学ぶ場所。
仲間という絆こそが、世の中を動かしているのだと。
御縁あって、今秋母校でお話をさせていただくことになった。
こんな私の経験談が役に立つのならと、大役をお引き受けしたものの、
会場を下見しながら、少し緊張している。
私だけじゃない。
みんな目に見えない宿題を抱えて、生きている。
