Halloween is a festival that takes place on
October 31 every year and is thought to
have been started by ancient Celts for
more than 2000 years.
In Japan, it is also enjoyed as an autumn
event, but it was originally an event to
celebrate autumn harvest. In the world of
tea ceremony, Jack O’Lantern and ghost
Japanese wagashi sweets are displayed
in the shops and entertain us.
I had a bowl of matcha with a Japanese
wagashi sweet “Kimishigure (a type of
Japanese bun)”, imitating Jack O’Lantern
with pumpkin paste inside. I wonder if it
will finally be cold after the Japanese
silver leaf in the garden next to a tearoom
begin to bloom.
I had another bowl of matcha with a piece
of steamed cake of marron glace made by
a Japanese wagashi sweets shop as
a souvenir from Osaka.
ハロウィーンは、毎年10月31日に
実施される古代ケルト人が起源と
考えられている2000年以上も
歴史のあるお祭り。
日本でも秋のイベントとして
楽しまれているが、もともとは
秋の収穫を祝う行事だったとか。
お茶の世界でも、ジャック・オー・
ランタンやゴーストの和菓子が
登場して、楽しませてくれる。

カボチャ餡の黄身しぐれで一服。
露地の石蕗の花も咲き始め
ようやく寒くなる気配だろうか。
大阪土産にいただいた和菓子屋さんの
作ったマロングラッセの蒸しケーキで
もう一服。
