自分に属する人々，ことに自分の家の者に必要な物を備えない人がいるなら，その人は信仰を否認しているこ

使徒パウロは，年配のクリスチャンが自分だけでは必要を賄えなくなったなら，子どもや孫たちが「親や祖父母に当然の報礼をしてゆく」べきである，と述べました。しかしその次に，衣食住など日々の生活に必要なものがあればそれで満足するよう，すべてのクリスチャンに勧めています。高い生活レベルや安定した老後のためにあくせく働くのは，正しいことではありません。（テモ一 5:4; 6:6‐10）クリスチャンが『自分に属する人々に必要な物を備え』ようとして，間もなく過ぎ去ってしまうこの世の物質的な富を求める必要はありません。（ヨハ一 2:15‐17）家族全員で，神の義の宿る新しい世での「真の命をしっかりとらえる」ようにしましょう。「富の欺きの力」や「生活上の思い煩い」により，その見込みが危険にさらされないようにすべきです。―テモ一 6:19。マル 4:19。ルカ 21:34‐36。塔14 4/15 4:9

If anyone does not provide for those who are his own, and especially for those who are members of his household, he has disowned the faith and is worse than a person without faith.—1 Tim. 5:8.
The apostle Paul directed that when older Christians cannot make ends meet, their children and grandchildren should “repay their parents and grandparents what is due them.” But Paul went on to urge all Christians to be content with their daily necessities—food, clothing, and shelter. We should not constantly be striving for a higher standard of living or for future financial security. (1 Tim. 5:4; 6:6-10) To ‘provide for one’s own,’ a Christian does not need to seek material riches in this world, which will soon pass away. (1 John 2:15-17) We must not let “the deceptive power of riches” or “anxieties of life” put at risk our family’s “firm hold on the real life” in God’s righteous new world!—Mark 4:19; Luke 21:34-36; 1 Tim. 6:19. w14 4/15 4:9
