Stonehenge and Nessie
ロンドンの写真です。イギリスの冬の日照時間は短く、日の出は8時、日の入りは16時くらいで、だいたいこの写真のような天気（曇りや雨）です。非常に寒いです。
この一週間はネッシーを探したり、ストーンヘンジに行ったりしていました。
This is a picture of London. We have very short sunshine hours during winter in the UK. The time of sunrise is after 8 AM and sunset is about 4 PM. The weather is almost like this picture (cloudy and rain) and it is very cold.
I tried to look for Nessie and went to Stonehenge this week.
ネッシーはネス湖に生息しているかもしれない？伝説の動物です。爬虫類というか恐竜のような動物ですね。最初の発見は相当古いようです。
ということでネッシーを探すためにネス湖に行ってきました。
Nessie is a legendary animal which is said to live in Loch Ness. It seemed to be a reptile or dinosaur. The first finding of the Nessie is very old. I went to Loch Ness to find Nessie.

正直、寒すぎてネッシーどころの騒ぎではなかったです。
Honestly, I could not look for Nessie because it was too cold there.
ネス湖でネッシーは見つけられませんでしたが（当然）、お土産屋さんにたくさんいたので良しとしましょう。何ともかわいいネッシーたちですね。
I couldn’t find Nessie in Loch Ness. But it is OK because I found many Nessies in souvenir shops. What pretty Nessies they are.
続いてストーンヘンジについて
Next topic is about Stonehenge
ストーンヘンジは、およそ4000年前（紀元前2000～2500年）に作られたストーンサークルです。ロンドンからだとバスで2時間ほどかかったと思います。
Stonehenge is a stone circle which was made about 4000 years ago(2000 to 2500 BC). It took about two hours by bus from London.
石が美しいですね。

この左側手前の石はヒールストーンと言われます。冬至の日の夕陽がこの向き（矢印）になるようです。夏至の日の日の出は真逆になります。非常におもしろいです。
This left front stone is called the heel stone. The sunset of midwinter (winter solstice) will be this direction (The arrow shows). And the sunrise of midsummer (summer solstice) will be in the opposite direction.
この時期、晴れるのは珍しいみたいです。
It is not usual that we can see Stonehenge with sunshine.
良くは分かりませんが、時計のような役割をしていたのかもしれませんね。当時の人の知恵や知識も素晴らしいと思います。
I am not sure about the details of Stonehenge. But it might play a role as a clock. People at that time had great knowledge and wisdom.
23.4°の地軸の傾きは地球を特徴づける性質をもたらすので、おもしろいです。
The 23.4° tilt of the earth's axis makes our planet characteristic and it is very interesting.
