室内楽、オーケストラ、ピアノ作品と、どれも近現代クラシックの装いだが、随所にジャズのアドリブ的フレーズが垣間見える。素地としてバルトーク以降のクラシック、プログレッシヴロック、クールジャズなどがあって(実は、それらはとても近しいジャンルだが)、独自の「錬成術」により新たな「音世界」を創出している。極めて興味深いアルバムだ。

A collection of classical compositions created and performed by jazzman Hiro Ogawa. Chamber music, orchestra, and piano pieces all have a modern classical guise, but there are glimpses of jazz improvisational phrases throughout. His background is classical music after Bartók, progressive rock, cool jazz, etc. (actually, they are very similar genres), and he creates a new ``sound world'' using his unique ``alchemy technique''. It's a very interesting album.
