「教育勅語が聖書に次ぐベストセラー」という殺し文句は、英語教育に乗りだした日本における、販売促進のための、事実からほど遠いセールストーク？ 教育勅語が英語で分かりやすく解説されていると思って購入することのないように、注意喚起したいと思います。
この本自体は、ふつうに、よい本ですよ。
中身は、教育勅語とは、まったく無関係ですが、教育勅語との関連が考えられるのは、おそらく物語の配列及び編集方法だけでしょう。次のとおりです: 1．自己規律、2．同情、3．責任、4．友情、5．勤勉、6．勇気、7．忍耐、8．正直、9．愛情、10．信仰。（但し、この日本語訳は、私の訳ではありません）。
