As you can assume, I visit the pet store fairly often. I have gained a small reputation among the employees and they treat me very kindly. Along with being friendly, they have given me stole way fish. I will explain this for those who do not engage much in the pet community. Pet stores (at least, here in the US) normally buy their fish from fish breeders. And some times, by sheer luck, a stray baby from another species can somehow get mixed in with the batch, My newest baby, Nosferatu, was just the case.
[He is a species of Cichlid. Wikipedia about his breed. He is very aggressive so he can never live among the other fish, )
When this happens, the pet store can not legally sell the fish because they have not legally purchased it themselves. This is the same with fish born within their store's tanks as well. And that is the case for my little Chihiro. (I named her after the girl from Spirited Away.)
(She is very, very small but does not fear the larger fish one bit! I honestly do not know her species. I believe she is a type of Platy but I could be wrong. A store employee and I found her as a newborn.)
They are the unwanted, but I feel they deserve love as much as any other creature. I have taken them in and given them lots of love. I would do this for any animal or person. :)
About two weeks ago I came to discover new little ones swimming around. After a very long time searching, I found ten baby guppies. They have no color yet, and when I first found them they were so small that I could barely see them.
(The pictures are not very good due to the babies being very fast. )
And lastly, I leave you with this:
Here are my adults! Man, times flies...
I hope all is well with everyone! There's so much sadness in the world right now, I truly hope everyone finds happiness.
