Back to School

Hello everyone,

It's back to school this week! Most of our students will begin school again after the summer vacation. My daughter started back yesterday although it was only a half-day. I wonder if our students will be more tired this week after a long day at school? It's also a tiring time to walk to school because August is the hottest and most humid month of the year. The summer vacation ends at the same time in Ireland too. However, they also begin their new school year at this time. The end of the summer vacation means the start of a new grade in most western countries. I have heard that people in Japan prefer to begin the new school year in April because spring is symbolic of new beginnings. What do you think?

Have you heard much thunder recently? The sky has been very restless and noisy over the past week. In Ireland, thunder and lightning is quite rare, and not as severe. It rains often, but not as heavily as Japan in summer. When lightning strikes here in Japan, the rumble can last a long time and you can feel roll through the ground like an earthquake. Maybe all this rain recently is the rainy season coming back because it finished so early in July! Don't forget your umbrella!

今週から学校が始まりましたね私の娘は月曜日から学校が始まりましたが、半日だけでした。長い一日を学校で過ごした後、今週は生徒たちがもっと疲れるのではないかと心配しています。また、8月は一年で最も暑く湿度が高い月なので、学校まで歩くのも大変です。アイルランドでも夏休みは同じ時期に終わりますが、新学年もこの時期に始まります。夏休みの終わりは、西洋の多くの国で新しい学年の始まりを意味します。日本では春が新しい始まりを象徴するため、新学年を4月に始めることを好むと聞いたことがあります。皆さんはどう思いますか

最近、雷が多くないですか過去一週間、空が非常に不安定で騒がしいです。アイルランドでは雷や稲妻はかなり珍しく、それほど激しくありません。雨はよく降りますが、日本の夏ほど激しくはありません。日本で雷が鳴ると、その轟音が長く続き、地震のように地面を通して感じることができます。最近のこの雨は、7月に早く終わった梅雨が戻ってきたのかもしれません！傘を忘れないでくださいね
