M2: Thanks for letting us know. Do we need to purchase any new clothing to comply with the policy?

W: No, you don't have to buy anything new. Just make sure your clothes are appropriate for the workplace and follow  the guidelines set in the memo.

祝・WBC優勝！最高です！！

 

 

 

 

 

昨日の準決勝から、今日の決勝までハラハラ、ドキドキの連続。

 

 

「劇的」という言葉が陳腐に思えるほど

　最高の舞台で、最高の結果を侍ジャパンが残してくれましたね！

 

 

（いや～、でもこれ毎日だったら心臓に悪い・・・）

 

 

最終的には、スター選手揃いのアメリカに対して

総力戦で立ち向かった日本の「チーム力」が、勝敗を分けた気がします。

 

 

折角なので、WBC優勝と大谷選手についてのNY Times記事を少し紹介しますね。

 

 

 

“I believe this is the best moment in my life,” Ohtani said through an interpreter, adding later, “I happened to be able to get the M.V.P., but this really proves that Japanese baseball can beat any team in the world.”

 

 

夢だったWBC優勝ですから、人生最高の瞬間ですよね。

日本野球のレベルの高さを世界に証明できて、大谷選手も嬉しかったでしょう。

 

 

 

“If you admire them, you can’t surpass them,” he (=Ohtani) told them. 

“We came here to surpass them, to reach the top.”

 

 

「アメリカのスター選手を今日だけは憧れるのをやめよう」

と言った大谷選手の言葉も、若い投手たちには響いたでしょう。

 

 

 

 

ほかに、デローサ監督の以下のようなコメントが載っていました。

 

 

“This thing is real — the W.B.C.’s real,” said Mark DeRosa, the U.S. manager. “The whole world got to see Ohtani come in, big spot, battling. It’s kind of how it was scripted.”

 

 

筋書きがあったかのような試合展開と大谷選手に脱帽という感じ。
