ある日、長威斎先生は、その若い美しい侍に言いました。”理を学び、理を知り、ただ没頭し、体で学び、体で知るべし。心を空にし、心をどこにも置かず対峙し、体は敵に自然に応じ、敵を討つなり。”とおしゃいました。利発な美しい若侍ははっとし、稽古に没頭し、汗を流しました。
香取神道流師範大竹利典先生には、明日の仕事を考えていても、敵の動きに対し自然に素早く体が動くまで稽古を積むように指導していただきました。まさしく、ただ没頭し、体で学び、体で知るまで稽古を積むということです。無念無想の境地です。
沢庵禅師は、”敵に対峙したとき、敵の肩に隙があると思えば、敵の肩のみに縛られてしまう。腕に隙があると思えば、腕のみに縛られてしまう。勝てると思えば、勝つことに縛られてしまう。心をどこにも置かず気力を集中する。これが剣の極意だ。”と言っております。
勝つことを期待され、勝つことに縛られ、敗退してしまったオリンピック選手が多くいます。自分を信じ、自分のやってきた事を信じ、利害を忘れ、しがらみを離れ、何も考えず、ただ夢中になる。無念無想の境地です。受験生の諸君も無念無想の境地で試験に臨んでください。
