It has finished the Asian Games Guangzhou 2010 today that known as an Asian Olympic Games.The Asian Games Guangzhou 2010, also known as the Asian Olympic games, have finished. I am not good at sports, so I've looked up with worship in my eyes and cheered on TV.

生姜(shouga) / GINGER

It is getting very cold. I can't take cold weather.

Ginger is the necessities of life in winter for me.

Actually, I think the meaning is not that distant from the Japanese. I would say, crossing fingers means keeping bad luck away, thus resulting in good luck!
Also, if you have your fingers crossed while making a promise, that nullifies it. Convenient for making unreasonable promises ^ ^

Mirai chan

In English sometimes if you cross your fingers behind your back, while making a promise to someone, it means you are lying to them. 笑！

If u cross your fingers in front of you it means "good luck". If its behind your back it means your "lying" about a promise to someone. (^^)

It is interesting that there are various meanings about "cross my fingers" in English.

I got it! Yes, the meaning is close to "Giccho" or "EnGacho" in Japanese. Also, I was surprised that we can use not only to wish for luck but also to tell a white lie.
