闘牛の牛は赤い色に興奮するわけではない

                          「闘牛の牛は赤い色に興奮するわけではない」
                      "Bulls in bullfighting are not excited by the color red"

１．闘牛士の小道具といえば、鋭い剣に真っ赤な布。
     The props used by bullfighters are a sharp sword and red cloth.

２．大きく広げた布をヒラヒラさせると、挑発された牛が突進していきます。
    When the cloth is spread out wide and hurled around, the bull is provoked and charges forward.
 
  (注：hurl around = ヒラヒラさせる。provoke = 〔動〕挑発させる。

３．だから赤い布は牛を興奮させると思われました。
    That's why red cloth were thought to excite bullss.
    
４．実は、牛は決して赤い色に興奮しているわけではないのです。
    The fact is, bulls are not at all excited for the red color.
   　

５．人間とサル以外のほとんどの動物は、色の判別が困難だといわれています。
    Most animals other than humans and monkeys are said to have difficulty discerning the color.

６．牛は布の色を判別する能力はなく、濃淡の差だけ判別できるのです。
    Cows do not have the ability to distinguishe the color of the cloth, but only the difference

７．牛は闘牛士の赤い布に興奮するのだはなく、布がヒラヒラ動いているのを見て興奮するのです。
    Bullss do not get excited by the bullfighter's red cloth, but they are excited to see the cloth fluttering..

８．闘牛士が赤い布を広げることで、士気が高まり、観客も熱狂します。
　　The bullfighter boosts his morale by spreading the red ccloth, and the audience also gets excited.
