先週のある日の授業。
節分の話をしました。
一通り、説明した後。
“After they did the bean throwing, they eat the beans as many beans as their own age for good luck.”
（で、豆まきをしたあと、縁起を担いで自分の歳の数だけ豆を食べるんだよ。）
“If you are 7 years old, you eat 7 beans. If you are 8, you eat 8 beans.”
(7歳の人は7粒、8歳の人は8粒。）
“So I am going to eat 18 beans today.”
（だから、今日先生は18粒食べます。）
一瞬みんな、息を呑む。
（ウフフ）
で。
1年生の反応。
ジョシュアがとなりの子に耳打ち。
Joshua : "She is eighteen! I thought she was nineteen! "
（ジョシュア：“先生、18歳だって！僕、先生は19歳だと思ってたよ！”
（え、ええ～！）
ちょ、ちょっぴりうれしいけど、罪悪感で胸がチクチク。
そして3年生の反応。
Michael ： WOW! She is eighteen!
（マイケル：へえええ！先生、18歳なんだ～！）
Megan: “She is just saying it!”
（メーガン：嘘に決まってるじゃない！）
アハ、アハハ…。
おっしゃる通りです。
ごめんなさい。
