Nagoya's popular character "Piyorin," or "ぴよりん," seems to mark his or her 8th anniversary this month. バースデーケーキ

The other day, I visited Nagoya. It's the capital of Aichi Prefecture, Japan, and the area is sometimes called the Tokai Area.

I guess some of you might remember that I took a trip to Nagoya last year, too: "Hau'oli la Hanau Eggs 'n Things."

He's not only cute but yummy. Well, I myself think Piyorin is a male chick, so I use "he."

This item is a limited one to celebrate his 8th birthday and is only available from July 8th till 31th. It's offered in a limited quantity, which is 50 per day.

This time, I just stayed in Nagoya for two days, but I was very surprised to find that he's very popular and all of his items sold out each day.

As I did last year, I got his regular item to go before I went back to the Kanto region. To be honest, I wanted to get his coffee-flavered item, but I couldn't make it. The last day of the trip, I came by the shop more than three times to check how many were still available, and I thought I'd still be able to get the coffee-flavored one a few hours later. I should have bought it much earlier.

I got one of Piyorin's goods for myself and my honey.

By the way, I went to see these three guys while I was in Nagoya. The one thing I'm very worried about is that one of the three didn't seem healthy. I'm not sure whether the last year's three ones have been alive or not, though. I mean, they may be the same ones I saw last year or maybe not.

Atsuta Jingu, 熱田神宮.

The right one in each picture above is the one. I know the Atsuta Jingu doesn't own them, but I think they should do something and take better care of them, especially the poor one. They sometimes post photos of them on their official Instagram, but I'd say they always seem to use the other two that look gorgeous as if they didn't want to show the pity one. That's not fair.

You know what? A crow did something to me while I was eating Kishimen there ... But I don't like this attention sign, actually. I do understand they need to do this, though.

Well, get back to the original topic, Piyorin has some stores, and I was talking about the one that is located near "MERMAID CAFE" and an entrance gate of Shinkansen, or bullet train

I dropped by the cafe as well and enjoyed their Nagoya-limited item named "ういろうワッサン.” It comes in 4 flavors, and I tried three of them because the other one already sold out. They were really good. Also, I tried to have as many Kisimen, "きしめん," as possible during my stay in Nagoya.ラーメン  I'll write about what I had there sometime.

Both "ういろう" and "きしめん" are Nagoya's famous local food. And another one is "八丁味噌," or Hatcho Miso.

Well, to tell the truth, the main purpose of my trip to Nagoya was to have ...

Eggs 'n Things Nagoya PARCO limited "HATCHO MISO HAMBURG STEAK EGGS BENEDICT."

Aloha.やしの木

Eggs 'n Things Nagoya PARCO location is doing store-limited Eggs Benedict to celebrate Nagoya PARCO's 30th anniversary.

It started on June 21th and will be offered until July 15th.

There're only two days left.

You know what? The store manager of the location is a female Ohana whose name is Saki-chan. She made her dream come true. I remember she told me that she wanted to become a store manager someday when I dined there last year. I hoped she liked the bussiness card holder I gave to her the other day.

Hey, Saki-chan. I've checked Eggs 'n Things Nagoya Shop News on Nagoya Parco Official Site.ナイフとフォーク

She told me before that Nagoya PARCO also wants them to restart some store-limited item.

I took these photos when I visited Nagoya last year. Eggs 'n Things Nagoya PARCO was serving "Nishio Matcha Tiramisu Pancakes" as an exclusive item at that time. They tasted great.

I do hope they can make it as Sendai did last year. I wanna write more, but I don't have time tonight. Well, I'll post another blog post some other time.
