Aloha.虹

You know what? I went to Eggs 'n Things Coffee yesterday.コーヒー

Well, I visited a new one of the brand, which just opened on March 28 this year: Eggs 'n Things Coffee Kashiwa Takashimaya Station Mall.

It's located in Kashiwa, Chiba prefecture. Chiba is located in Kanto region, where Tokyo is also located. Kanto has Gunma prefecture as well, and Eggs 'n Things Coffee opened their 1st location there last year, and this is the 2nd one.

There was a longer line than I'd expected. It was Sunday. Well, I'll go there on weekdays next time.

Eggs 'n Things Coffee offers "To-Go" service. To our surprise, not only drinks but many of the food items including pancakes can be "Takeaways." Well, Japanese people call it "Takeout."

Eggs 'n Things Japan didn't have any take-away service, but I'd always thought they should. Eggs 'n Things Hawaii seems to have been doing. You know, Eggs 'n Things was born in Hawaii, the U.S., in 1974.

Finally, Eggs 'n Things Coffee made it come true here in Japan. I'm so happy. Hope more people can enjoy their items everywhere.

The left one is their Grande size while the right is the small one.

Well, I wanted to try their "Eggnog" more than anything because it's exclusively available in Eggs 'n Things Coffee, I mean, Eggs 'n Things restaurants don't offer it. The beverage's only offered in Hot.

I asked Ohana what it tastes like, and they told me it's very sweet. I also asked them if I can enjoy the same taste as they offer in the store when I take it away and warm it up in a microwave at home. One of them advised me to have it there since it uses eggs.

It is sweet, but it tastes great. I love it. I think it's perfect especially on cold days, so, they should keep serving it as a regular item, not a seasonal one, you know.

I ordered its small one because I hadn't had it before and ordered sweet food items as well then. I think I'll have a bigger one the next time.

And of couse, I had my favorite "Kona Coffee," too, because I hear Eggs 'n Things Coffee uses better Kona Coffee beans than Eggs 'n Things does. It has a stronger emphasis on coffee as the name suggests.コーヒー

I ordered it in the Grande Size. You know, as I've mentioned many times, Kona Coffee goes well with their generous pancakes, but it can pair well with anything sweet. Well, actually, I just prefer hot coffee when I have something sweet. But only Eggs 'n Things Coffee offers "100 % Kona Coffee," so I decided to have it instead of their "Today's Coffee" even though the latter is cheaper than the former. Just check the menu of Eggs 'n Things Coffee on their official website.コーヒー

While I was there, I tried their "Malasada" with Kona Coffee. It's only available in Eggs 'n Things Coffee and comes in 3 flavors: Matcha, Cream and Custard.

"Matcha"

"Cream"

"Custard"

Well, I have to admit that I've aged rapidly since I started to work in a new workplace last year.

You know, people in the food & beverage industry have to work from morning till late at night. I sometimes feel sorry for some Ohana because they have to work from earlier morning till late at night. but I'm sure many customers enjoy "All Day Breakfast" while they're dining at Eggs 'n Thingsナイフとフォーク Some customers told me they came there since the restaurant opened early in the morning.

Since their new location is full of green and it's a cafe, I remembered Eggs 'n Things Umeda Chayamachi, which opened in Osaka, Kansai region, in 2017.

It's located in a university's campus. I visited there when I took a trip to Kansai last year because almost all the locations were doing their store-limited menus and items at the time.

Even though many of them stopped doing later, Umeda Chaymachi has been serving its own original menu such as Chocolate Banana Pancakes and so on because that's been one of its features since it opened. Actually, I'm dissapointed that they don't offer exclusive Apple Pie and Egg in Cloud anymore, though.

It sounds a bit complicated, but it's not a store of Eggs 'n Things Coffee but that of Eggs 'n Things. Still, it's called "cafe-style" location. It offers electric outlet, so customers can use the place as a cafe. Back in 2017 when the location opened, they didn't start Eggs 'n Things Coffee yet.

Well, they're different in many ways, say, Eggs 'n Things Coffee offers to-go service as I've mentioned earlier while Umeda Chayamachi doesn't. The former's like other coffee shops since we can take away beverages and some food items, you know.

I've heard before that opening a new location in Umeda Chayamachi, Osaka, was a long-cherished desired of Oginon, or Ogino-san, whom Ohana call "Shinobu-san." He was the previous president of Eggs 'n Things Japan and had been helping Kouta since both were working for Tully's Coffee. I mentioned him in other blogs posts like "Hospitality" and  "Appreciation."

We wonder if he's been doing well. He might have been a bit too kind and nice to be the president, to speak up and say something harsh to the owner, Kouta, but he was very generous for sure. We enjoyed various kinds of food and beverage items including seasonal and regular ones and marvelous giveaways on special occations.

Eggs 'n Things Coffee sells lots of exclusive food and beverage items like these. Hydro Flask itself doesn't their exclusive item because all the locations of Eggs 'n Things have been selling it. I think they should produce Eggs 'n Things Coffee -limited goods such as tumblers or something.

"To Go" items include 3 kinds of "Bagel" and 3 flavors of "Muffin."

To be honest, I'm writing this blog post having some of them with hot coffee.カップケーキチョコカップケーキ Well, I think their bagel goes well with Kiri's Cheese I like bagels in general. I used to have it when I was much younger.

Of couse we can have them while we're in Eggs 'n Things Coffee, you know. Also, we can take away their "Masalada" and other items. There're some exceptions, and all kinds of "Eggs Benedict" are not available as takeaways. One of three flavors of their "French Toast," "Complete French Toast," which is topped with a fried egg, isn't either. Well, check their menu and find which item is and which isn't. An item with a Hibiscus mark can be taken away while one without it cannot.ハイビスカス

Here, I got confused, actually. Eggs 'n Things Coffee has opened two locations so far; the 1st is Takasaki OPA, Gunma Prefecture and the 2nd is Kashiwa Takashimaya Station Mall, Chiba Prefecture.

Then, what's Eggs 'n Things Ngoya Minato AQULS location? Their menu's like that of Eggs 'n Things Coffee, but they're different because Minato AQULS doesn't include "Coffee" on its name and doesn't have take-away sevice either. I thought it was also doing to-go service. The store opened in September last year according to their past news page on the website while the 1st location of Eggs 'n Things Coffee, Takasaki OPA, opened in December that year. which means a few months after the former opened. And, these three locations don't serve seasonal pancakes or eggs benedicts so far. I'm wondering if Hayami-san's been doing fine. He was once the store manager of Eggs 'n Things Kyoto Shijo, one of my favorite locations.ホットケーキ

By the way, "Eggnog" is only available in these three locations. So, maybe Nagoya Minato AQULS is like one of Eggs 'n Things Coffee shops though it doesn't offer takeaways.

opens at 10 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. everyday. I guess that's rare among stores of Eggs 'n Things in Japan because many of them open at 9 a.m. and close at 10 or 11 p.m while only Harajuku at 8 a.m. since "All Day Breakfast" is the concept of Eggs 'n Things. I checked their official website and find that there are two restaurants in addition to the new cafe that open at 10 a.m.

Say "Aloha."

Come by Eggs 'n Things Coffee as well as Eggs 'n Things all over Japan.日本

Well, I'll write about "Tully's Flowers Little Trip" by Tully's Coffee in Japan the next time I update this blog because that's one of the reasons I went to Chiba prefecture yesterday. I thought I'd write about it as well as Eggs 'n Things Coffee, but I don't have enough time today. So I'll make it sometime.

宝石紫宝石ブルー I love their flower-inspired beverage topped with purple and blue sprinkles. It's only available in three prefectures for a limited time; from April 5 to May 19 in Ibaraki, Chiba, Tochigi prefectures, all of which are located in Kanto region.

By the way, the store manager of Tully's Coffee I stopped by yesterday told me how they chose the appearance of their "Blooming Royal Milk Tea." It was so funny. But it's also a serious problem, I'd say. Though I like so-called Ojisan, older men, much better than younger guys or men my age, Ojisan sometimes don't work well. Haha. Sometimes their decisions, choices and preferences are not based on customer needs. I'll write about it sometime. You'll see what I mean. Eggs 'n Things is no exception.
