Hello everyone! I am finally getting around writing this article in English!
Back in Spring 2023, there were some heated online fueds among Influencers and celebrities on who should pay for a date, after one Japanese female Influencer said, "I want males to pay for (all) the dates."
Of course, I needed to get into the whole fiasco 
and decided to give my own opinion.

Who should pay for a date ... it's a never ending topic!
Fifi, a celebrity in Japan, said, "If you want guys to pay for dates, don't complain when people say females should do all house work!" (See this article: https://news-vision.jp/article/195175/ ). Even though I am not the biggest fan of Fifi, I am totally with her on this.
Honestly, I always felt weird about guys always paying for dates. I have dated few guys in my life, but most of the time, we went dutch, and I was totally okay with it.
Almost all guys I dated ... we were friends first so it was just so natural to keep it the way things were (before becoming an item) - pay for our own stuff. Also, most guys I dated were of similar age so it was not like one had more money than the other.
A question to you all: What is a definition of a date?
When I was on a dating scene, we just hung out; not like a real date. Just doing anything together was fun. However, that costs money, even just getting some food. I never expected my boy friend to cover for those!
Of course, on special days like birthdays, we treated each other. I think going dutch on normal basis made those special days really special - great memories.
