On January 31st Mark Zuckerberg, the social network’s founder, was harangued by American senators over the spread of harmful material. The next day, as we published this, he was poised to announce another set of glittering results for Meta, Facebook’s parent company, which is now valued at $1trn. Yet even as social media reliably draw vast amounts of attention from addicts and critics alike, they are undergoing a profound but little-noticed transformation.

break everythingを「すべてを破壊する」と誤訳している日本人は多いですが、2点指摘しましょう。
まず、思春期の人はすべてを破壊しようと思っているでしょうか？次にbreakを「破壊する」と訳語を貼り付けるのは、間違いで、breakの極意は「連続性を断ち切る」なのです。
breaker「ブレーカー」は、破壊をしているわけではなく、電気の連続する流れを断ち切っているだけです。思春期の人は、いままでのマンネリの連続を断ち切って、違ったことをしてみようという特徴を持っているだけです。
フェイスブックのmove fast and break thingsは、「すばやく行動してものを破壊せよ」といっているのではなく、「すばやく行動して、マンネリを打破せよ」と言っているだけです。

この文は「より具体的には、どのようなことを意味するのか」という疑問を喚起し、その疑問を解消するような議論展開がそのあとに行われていることが確認できるので、topic sentenceであると判断することができます。
ここで第1パラグラフは終了です。このパラグラフは、第1文から第3文がintroductory sentencesで、第4文がtopic sentenceであると判断することができます。
このパラグラフに、対応するsupportが一切含まれていないことから、supportの役割を果たすパラグラフは2つ以上後続することが予想できます。実際には、長大なsupportのパラグラフ群が続くことになります。
