Visitors to Japan often say one of the biggest obstacles to navigating the country is the language barrier.
But increasingly, they're finding that technology is smoothing the way.
This display from Japanese printing firm Toppan can translate conversation in real time. The see-through screen allows users to maintain eye contact and observe physical gestures.

It sounds like it's going to make things a lot easier for both foreign tourists and Japanese residents.
Having these kinds of tools to lower the language barrier would've made a big difference when I first came. I can tell you that much.

Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio has raised his voice throughout the past year to show his support for an ally. Now he's backed that up with a visit to Ukraine. He's stolen the spotlight from some rivals meeting in Russia.

“We have decided to contribute 30 million dollars to supply non-lethal equipment through NATO trust funds.”
Kishida says Zelenskyy asked him to discuss with other G7 leaders how to respond to Russia's threat to use nuclear weapons. He says he conveyed his commitment to exercising leadership as a G7 chair to maintain the global order based on the rule of law. He said he will prepare to send a clear, unified message at the summit.
