Mineko has been depressed since she heard from Watahiki of actual witness information of Father. Nevertheless, she got over it little by little with the help of her co-workers.
Meanwhile, a payday has come. It was her first payday. Mineko earns 12,000 yen a month, from which 6,000 yen such as insurance premiums and dormitory fees are deducted. She sends 5,000 yen out of 6,000 yen to her family in Ibaraki. Therefore, only 1000 yen is left in her hand.
As always on paydays, a peddler came to the dorm and the girls enjoyed shopping. Mineko bought some stationery to send to her little siblings. And after that, she found a nice blouse for herself. But of cause she could not buy it. She regretted that she couldn't afford that.
A few days later, a package arrived from Mother. In the package, Mineko found a blouse and a letter which thanked Mineko for sending the money. The blouse was handmade by Mother, who well understands Mineko's preference. Mineko thought of the kindness of her mother's and shed tears with the blouse holing in her arms.
