Images of bag thief who broke

テーマ:ブログ

IMAGES have been released of a man being hunted by police, after a pensioner's hip was broken by a bike-riding bagsnatcher.

Police are still chasing a man accused of swiping handbags from two elderly women during a dramatic 10-minute crime spree.

Now police chiefs hope the CCTV and e-fit images of the man will trigger the memory of witnesses - and bring to an end the manhunt which has been ongoing for nearly three months.

Widow Peggy Moore (85) broke her hip after being dragged along the street by the cyclist who grabbed her bag in Westgate, Lincoln, on April 29.

She was affected so badly by the incident that she has since moved into a nursing home - and her family say her life has been "ruined".

Around 10 minutes before Mrs Moore was targeted, the same man struck about a quarter of a mile away.

Police say that, in this incident, a woman in her 70s had her shopping bag swiped in Newport.

She escaped without injury in the robbery.

Once he had targeted the two women, the offender is believed to have disappeared into Newport cemetery.

He is described as being around 25 years old, with short, dark hair.

The man, who was riding a black mountain bike, is said to be about six feet tall and of medium build.

Jemma Peacock, spokesman for Lincolnshire Police, said the county force would do everything it could to bring the man to justice.

"The repercussions of the actions of this offender will be felt for some time by these victims and their families," she said.

"We are determined to bring the man responsible to justice and we are grateful for the support of the media and the public in helping us to do this.

"We are now 10 weeks into the investigation and we are urging the public, once again, to come forward with what they know about this man."

Glenn Moore, son of Peggy Moore, believes that someone in the city knows who robbed his mother.

"How many more lives does he want to ruin?" he asked.
