THE PERSPECTIVES OF PASSENGER TRAIN SERVICE ALONG THE ROUTE TEHERAN – ALMATY
The 42nd Conference of Railway Transport Council of CIS countries were held in the Turkmen capital. At the Conference the delegations of railway administrations of CIS countries, Baltic countries and Finland as well as International Confederation of railway employees and transport builders signed a Protocol.
The statements of the Protocol sum up the operational results of the railway network for the period of 10 months of the current year cover certain amendments and additions which were introduced into the regulations and agreements common for the Council members. Moreover, the document reflects various aspects of CIS countries cooperation, as well as plans for further cooperation of the countries for two years immediately ahead. One of the statements of the Protocol provides for further negotiation on the issue of passenger train service along the route Teheran-Almaty.
