THE BIGGEST EXHIBITION COMPLEX IS BUILT IN THE TURKMEN CAPITAL -- In the centre of Ashgabat French Company "Bouigues" has completed the construction of a new exhibition complex the total cost of which reaches 55 million US dollars. This complex is the biggest in the region and will be opened for the visitors in October this year - just on the eve of Independence Day celebrations.
The new exhibition complex is located next to the building of the Republic's Parliament. The length of its facade is 152 metres; the height of the entrance portal is 32 metres. The front door, which is 24 metres wide and is made of three types of granite with decorative illumination, is in line with the scope of the project.
The complex comprises a conference-hall for 500 seats, which in case of necessity can be transformed into cinema hall. On the second floor there is a restaurant with terraces from which a splendid view of the central part of Ashgabat opens up before the eyes of the visitors.
Almost two hectares of showrooms for large exhibits display have been completed round the main building.
The new exhibition complex will accommodate a large-scale permanent exposition telling about the achievements in various spheres of the life of the state. It is also planned to hold regular specialised international exhibitions here.
