Nami Ikeda is a truly wondrous vocalist.
She’s come seemingly from out of nowhere, and firmly immersed herself into the world of Jazz.
Before anyone knew of her, many people were moved to tears when they experienced her “rough around the edges” style at jam sessions. Yet others in the audience smiled when they heard her sing. I suppose Jazz has always had that affect since its beginning. Her voice gets one thinking along those lines.
Eventually, Nami’s performances created a buzz on the live Jazz circuit. Just like a growing child, her ears have absorbed the incredible sounds of her seniors and her technique improved greatly from the experience of being with talented musicians.
That voice, those ears, and that wondrous feeling from rhythmic sense...no one quite knows where they come from. While still keeping its rough quality, her voice overflows with the type of raw power which draws in an audience.
With the encouragement of her many fans, she began this recording.
Through recording she has learned a lot, and suffered a bit, but is thankful that she’s reaching a wider circle of people who will support her.
This recording overflows with more charm than this CD can hold. She has put much of her essence into its recording but in order to get the full experience, you have to hear her live!!!
Where will this “diamond in the rough” appearing from out of the blue, go next?!! It will be a pleasure to find out!
Listen to this CD all the way through from beginning to end. You should be able to sense her strong message. It’s a message of intense love. A message of a soul that’s seeking love. Using her original ideas and her exceptional and unique vocal skills, this message is strewn throughout all the songs on the CD in various forms, that one can sense on any of the selections.
Once you listen to this CD, I’m certain you’ll experience the supreme healing that the cry of Nami’s soul has to offer.
