Yesterday, how delighted I was when I received my first couple items from Chanel's Summer 2011 collection, a lipgloss and nail polish to tide me over for the meanwhile. ﾟ･:,｡ﾟ･:,｡★ﾟ･:,｡ﾟ･:,｡☆ Out of all the items, I was anticipating their newest Levres Scintillantes Glossimer release the most, Pensée (パンセ)~
A gorgeous, bright & bold coral with flecks of shimmer, it certainly didn't disappoint me at first glance. Both in the photos as well as straight out of the tube, it was absolutely to die for. In the past, their glosses have worked extremely well for me usually giving a lovely deposit of long lasting pigment.
As with the others, I love that it's non-scented and not a bit sticky. Unfortunately, even after applying in two layers, it hardly stood out againest my lips. At best, it appeared as a high shine, shimmery, clear gloss. Which is immensely disappointing for such an anticipated product. While it was certainly long lasting and worked very well over a lipstain or lipstick, I'm not quite sure it's worth the pricey tag ($30) just for simply using a top coat product. I don't mind sheer colours at all but in the case of Pensée, I barely noticed a trace of coral or pink.
Overall, unless your lips are a naturally light complexion or if you don't mind dishing cash for a pricey, clear gloss, I wouldn't quite recommend this shade. I found that their past Glossimers were a much better value. I would definately try NARS' summer items instead.
