SAN JOSE, Calif. and MADRID, Spain.—June 25, 2013–Validity Sensors, Inc., the leader in Natural ID™ authentication fingerprint sensors, announced that Microsoft is demonstrating next-generation Validity fingerprint sensors in products running the Windows 8.1™ operating system this week at Microsoft TechEd Europe 2013 and Build 2013.
Windows 8.1, which will be available later this year, natively supports fingerprint based biometrics and provides an end-to-end user experience for enrollment and authentication. Computers equipped with Windows 8.1 and Validity Natural ID fingerprint sensors, provide an enhanced user experience for device login, computer security and configuration, purchases and online transactions, and data protection.
“Fingerprint biometrics are integral to the 8.1 user experience,”said Dustin Ingalls, Partner Group Program Manager for Windows Security & Identity at Microsoft. “Validity’s Natural ID products provide the performance and design flexibility required by our notebook, tablet, handset, and desktop all-in-one customers, and our joint collaboration assures a seamless integration for products that work perfectly right out of the box.”
