「What would you say that is the selling point of the system, why is this not "another Wii U"?, I find it hard that the big selling point of the machine would be to take companion apps on the go. As a fellow game dev who knows nothing about this, I think that sounds expensive to develop in the first place.
（stimpak_vendor氏）「Essentially, it's a response to the claims that Nintendo needs to be like everyone else. The companion app thing is their way of keeping the Nintendo "quirk" in there, but this is a much more traditional console. The screen on the controller doesn't show the gameplay like the Wii U gamepad's screen. Think of it as a skin that you can customize, and put icons behind the buttons, and also a touch interface so you can add more actions to the controller. There is a way to stream the main gameplay to the controller, but that's not the main feature of it having a touchscreen.
「Kind of like the 3DS' bottom screen?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「But the screen is the whole controller.
「How can we know you're legit? Can you provide some proof?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「Sorry, I can't provide any proof without risking my employment and also getting Nintendo very angry with our company.
「So I've heard that the NX will be a home console but the pad will be portable. How does this work? Do you load a game into the pad and then bring it with you?
Are there any plans for it to be backwards compatible with the WiiU or 3DS
（stimpak_vendor氏）「You don't really load a game into the controller. Like I said, it's like companion apps. I already said, I don't know anything about backwards compatibility. The devkit is only for NX development.
「How big is the controller compared to the Wii U gamepad?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「It's about the size of the bottom half of a 3DS XL.
「Does the controller have functionality to StreetPass? Is there Mii support?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「There's Mii support, but the controller doesn't have StreetPass.
「Based on the pace of your work, and deadlines and such, do you believe the NX will have a late 2016 release? And also, Is it as easy to develop for as people are making it out to be?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「Signs point towards early 2017.
「Assuming this is real...Could you draw/sketch the real gamepad?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「Excuse my absolutely terrible MS Paint skills. http://i.imgur.com/l93eEYA.png It's honestly nothing to write home about. The whole thing is a screen, and it's kind of a rectangular slab. It's about the size of the bottom half of a 3DS XL.
「What's up with the analog sticks? Are they sort like the nubs on the "leaks"? Or are they more like the 3DS? Or the Wii U? Do they click in? What resolution is the screen?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「They're essentially the exact same ones on the Wii U.
「Screen is HD? Full HD? Ultra HD?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「It's a 1080p screen.
「So the controller looks more or less like this concept? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udkU101fFOk
（stimpak_vendor氏）「It's more rectangular.
「Right, but are the buttons transparent or they're just regular ones?
「does have any usb ports or some kind of port for external hard drives etc ?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「Our devkit has 4 USB 3.0 ports.
「Can you say anything about the CPU? Is it finally running x86 instructions? I could see thst being the case as there's no indicator Wii/Wii U backwards compatibility.
（stimpak_vendor氏）「It's actually a 64 bit ARM based processor.
「You said you're porting a ps4/x1 game to it, how hard is it if they are x86 and NX is still ARM?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「It's pretty hard to do, but it's not impossible. The Unreal engine is pretty flexible.
「Do you think it has the potential to succeed?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「Anything has the potential to succeed. It all depends on if it has the right software.
「Ok what about the wheels how it works and how it adds to the gameplay and do you feel it hard/easy to master ?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「We haven't actually been able to think of a clever use for them yet except for a fast way to scroll through UIs.
「If I may give you a suggestion, I think it would be an awesome way to zoom in and out.
（stimpak_vendor氏）「I'll bring that up.
1: Does your NX devkit support any controllers OTHER than the NX-specific controllers? i.e. Wii remotes or such?
2: How many simultaneous NX controllers can the devkit communicate with?
3: Do the NX controllers have the ability to communicate directly with each other when not in range of the console?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「1) It only supports the NX specific controller and another optional controller that you can buy that doesn't have a screen for multiplayer, but has the same form factor. 2) Four. 3) No.
「Does it have a camera? Built in speakers?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「It doesn't have a camera. It has a headphone jack.
「Does the extra controllers have headphone jack?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「Not the example one we have.
「Ok what about the battery life
（stimpak_vendor氏）「I don't know anything about battery life. Our devkit's controller is wired to the system.
「does have a blue ray disc or any HDD ?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「It takes Nintendo optical discs. Our devkit has a 1TB HDD, but that's probably just for testing purposes. I doubt the consumer model will ship with a hard drive that big.
「What would you say the power of just the controller is?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「About as powerful as a mid-tier smartphone.
「What are some ideas you or other (hopefully not fake) devs intend to implement with it, if you know of any?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「I can't really say without revealing what company I work for.
「If any of these questions infringe on the possibility of narrowing down what department you might be in, feel free to answer with "no comment" :) How do the joysticks, d-pad and face buttons compare to their placement from the edge on the Wii U gamepad? If your launch game is a port of an existing game as you say, how easy has it been to recompile your code to the new NX format? The buttons have a screen behind them and the screen itself is 1080p, but I'm assuming there is no screen or transparency in the joystick bases?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「How do the joysticks, d-pad and face buttons compare to their placement from the edge on the Wii U gamepad? They're a little bit further in, and I think that was a good call. If your launch game is a port of an existing game as you say, how easy has it been to recompile your code to the new NX format?
It's been a challenge since the NX has a different architecture, but the Unreal engine is very flexible. The buttons have a screen behind them and the screen itself is 1080p, but I'm assuming there is no screen or transparency in the joystick bases? You would be correct.
「Awesome, thanks for the quick reply. Did you guys only get the devkit with box and tethered controller? No other accessories or a more traditional controller?
Are you guys forced to make the unit and new gamepad work together or would you be allowed to omit the new gamepad's screen use?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「We got a devkit box with a tethered controller, and an example "multiplayer" controller with the same form factor and no screen.
You can omit the screen use, but we're not going to, and I really doubt any other devs would either.
「One follow-up question: So you don´t have any dev kit for a new Nintendo-handheld? (NX or not)
（stimpak_vendor氏）「No, we don't.
「Can the controller operate without the console for example web browsing?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「I don't know, because it's inseparable from our devkit.
「You said you could play small games on the controller. If the controller can work on its own, then what are the controller specs?
What is your opinion about Geno's rumors?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「You said you could play small games on the controller. If the controller can work on its own, then what are the controller specs?
I don't have exact specs, but it's on par with a mid-tier smartphone. What is your opinion about Geno's rumors? Who's Geno?
「Specs? Of course I'm going to take this authenticity with as much salt as nessecary. But I'm trying to get a ball park.
（stimpak_vendor氏）「Sorry, I'm not putting my employment at risk by leaking hard details. But I will tell you that it's slightly above the power of the PS4. One of the games we're releasing for it at launch is a port of one of our games for Xbox One and PS4.
「Slight above as in, if a ps4 game tried for 1080p and 30 fps the NX could do 60fps? Or 1080p and 30fps with absolutely zero dropped frames?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「I wouldn't say "absolutely zero" dropped frames, but games that are a little choppy on PS4 would definitely run a bit smoother on the NX.
「I'm not sure you'd know this, but is it a console, handheld, hybrid, or something else? What are the specs?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「It's a console with an additional portable function. You can take small minigame-like games with you. It's slightly above the PS4 in power.
「How do the games look running on the hardware? Would you say it is underpowered like wii and wii u were?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「The games look great. The full-screen controller lets us do a lot of fun things, and it makes it a lot easier to get away with using context sensitive buttons. It's a little bit above the PS4 in power, so anything that runs on it will also be able to run on the NX.
「Is the touchscreen capacitive or are we still relying on a stylus?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「It's capacitive, and the top of it's hard plastic instead of glass, probably to keep it from getting broken.
「can you attach accessories to the controller?, does have any motion like dualshock?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「It has acceleratometers and a gyroscope.
「You think NX till come out this year?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「No, not unless it comes out in December. It's far from ready, because most devs only just got their devkits.
「Is it ARM or x86? Also, cartridges, discs, or digital-only?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「ARM, our devkit uses discs, but it might not be that way in the final system.
「there is any kind of android underneath running ? or is a propetary OS
（stimpak_vendor氏）「It's a proprietary OS.
「Is there a 48 page Internal Handbook? Akin to this guy's leak: https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoNX/comments/4bt6za/nintendo_internal_handbook_leak/
（stimpak_vendor氏）「Wow, that guy's an idiot if he thinks people will believe that.
「thanks very much for all your answers, can you tell us somenthingh about Wifi, LAN, Bluetooth NFC etc ?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「Our devkit has Wi-Fi and LAN, and the controller has NFC for amiibo support. No Bluetooth that I know of.
「You wouldn't be able to tell us when Indies could ever hope to get their hands on this.
（stimpak_vendor氏）「I haven't got a clue, sorry.
「When did your studio receive the current devkit? Is there a chance of multiple versions of the devkit in the wild? Sure patent designs aren't always used but... they paid for it to be mass produced already. http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2014/12/16/business/corporate-business/sharp-supply-free-form-lcds-nintendo/#.Vu144vmLTs1 If we're getting rectangular screen controllers, what are these for?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「I can't say, it would reveal to Nintendo who I am. I don't know if the final product has a free form LCD or not, but the devkits have rectangular screens.
「In regard to ps4 and Xbox one controllers is the NX controller better/more comfortable or not?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「It's kind of boxy, so that might take a while to get used to. I don't think this is the 100% final design of it though, because it's not very ergonomic.
「Since you´re saying that is indeed the NX console-controller: Do you know about the NX handheld? Are dev kits for that one already out?
（stimpak_vendor氏）「I'm pretty sure that the "NX handheld" is a myth.
NS： reddit I am a AAA dev who actually works with a real NX devkit. AMA.
QAパート冒頭の「Essentially, it's a response to ～」が本文でおそらくは尤もクリティカルな質問。この答が本当で、かつもっとNXに根本的な売りがないのであれば、おそらく、NXは死んだ。きっとWii Uよりもさらに売れないだろう。
