今日は七夕をテーマにした英語のお勉強をしましょう

これから6つの文章を紹介します。

この6つはつなげると七夕のお話になります。

① All year the girl watched the boy herd the oxen to the river.On the seventh day of the seventh month she cross the river to meet him.

② When the emperor saw what had happened, he was so angry that he banished the two to opposite sides of the Milky Way River.

③ On one side of the Milky Way River lived a beautiful girl who loved to weave. She was the daughter of a powerful emperor.

④ Soon they fell in love. But they began to neglect their work. The oxen ran wild. The loom sat idle.

⑤ The boy and girl changed into stars. Ever since then, each year, on the seventh evening of the seventh month you can see the boy and girl meet at the banks of the Milky Way River.

⑥ On the other side of the river lived a handsome boy who herded oxen. He was from peasant family.

語彙たち：

Milky Way River - 天の川って"Milky Way"です。

fall in love - 恋に落ちる。ここでは過去形で"fell in love"です。

niglect - （仕事などを）怠る。

herd - (家畜などの)世話をする。

ox - 雄牛　,　oxen - oxの複数形

herd oxen - 牛の世話をする。
