Long time no see my dear fellows!
After a long busy psychotic summer Roxy is back behind the keyboard just for you!
Inspired by the giant yellow display at the entrance of LucianoShow, I decided today to talk to you a bit about one of the most old, prestigious and innovative champagne house: Veuve Clicquot! (And probably one of the only yellow widow of this world!)
The Clicquot House was founded in 1772 in the city of Reims by Phillipe Clicquot. Heir from a family of bankers and merchants, he decide to use the several vineyards he owns to start a wine business. Phillipe sees big, when he do his first shipment for Venice he is decided to conquer the world with his wines. A few years later in 1798 his son join the company.
In 1805, Phillipe dies and leave the company to his most famous character; the young widow, madame Clicquot. At 27 years-old she become one of the first business woman. From her early entrance on stage she make epic sales and open the market to Russia. She accomplish several things such as creating the first recorded vintage champagne in 1811; managing to send a major shipment of wine to Russia in 1814 besides the severe embargo that was raging in Europe; inventing the revolutionary riddling table in 1816 which considerably ameliorated the production of champagne. The widow Clicquot carry well her nickname of ''La Grande Dame''!
After madame Clicquot's death, the Clicquot House still keep on tracks, fueled by her amazing imaginative spirit. In 1877 they register the First Yellow Label Trademark. The yellow color was the symbol, especially in England, of the most unique and prestigious taste. This idea totally corresponded to the profile of the Clicquot House which naturally registered it as their official color. About one century later, they decide to create the Business Women Award to celebrate the genius of the women that have succeed in the world of business. In 1976 they found the LVMH (Louis Vuitton - Mohet Hennessy). Finally after several years of renovation, they open to public the Hotel du Marc, the house where once lived madame Clicquot.
We offer you in LucianoShow the chance to taste a bit of history by the bias of five possibilities: Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label, Veuve Clicquot Vintage, Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rich, Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rose, Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame.
